Web designer a winner
GREENSBOROUGH-BASED Melissa Norfolk Web Design placed second in Melbourne at the Australian achiever awards in the internet and computer services and supply category.
Now in its seventh year, the independent business awards are based on assessment ratings from customers. Businesses can be nominated or can enter themselves in the awards, with entrants providing five references from customers and one from a supplier.
Melissa Norfolk, 28, said she was "rapt" to have done so well in the awards.
"It's the first year we've entered and it's good to get an idea of what our customers think of us," she said.
Ms Norfolk said she and her two staff members designed websites for people, created internet newsletters and supplied other web design services. The business recorded a score of 97.03 per cent in the awards.
Director of Australian Achiever Geoff Harward said that anything above 80 per cent overall was regarded as exceptional and reflected outstanding customer service.
Ms Norfolk studied computer science at university.
She said it was good to see her six-year-old business do so well because she was up against bigger companies such as computer and software suppliers from all over Melbourne.
